I don’t have an Aunt Edna, but my husband does. I was playing a little naming game for smoothies on my @brennamaywellness instagram account a while back and we came up with some creative names… not all of which I have brought to the blog. My husband Steve coined this one because the color reminded him of his Aunt Edna in Australia. It tastes lovely and is a refreshing smoothie full of healthy fats, antioxidants, probiotics and bone broth protein to heal the gut.
I prefer Ancient Nutrition Vanilla Bone Broth Protein, which is available in my Fullscript Practitioner Dispensary.* It is immensely gut healing as well.
For lemon I use dōTERRA Lemon Essential Oil drops. dōTERRA ingestible oils are marked with a nutritional label. They undergo stringent lab testing that unfortunately many essential oils do not… so be careful… don’t put adulterated or chemically altered oils in your body unknowingly! The lemon tastes lovely… and I’ve used the wild orange, lime, and peppermint for other smoothies. You can get those smoothie friendly culinary oils here.
All in all it is a powerhouse and is great to start the day or to break an intermittent fast in the afternoon.
Enjoy!

*I will sometimes add a scoop of Modified Citrus Pectin from EcoNugenics (PectaSol-C) as it is an extremely powerful immune modulator, detoxifier and supports cardiovascular and cellular health. It doesn’t taste like much so blends into everything. Available in my Fullscript.
