Gretna Greens Smoothie

Gretna Greens Smoothie

Gretna Greens Smoothie 💚🥬 There’s nothing quite like a clean green smoothie to start the day or break your fast in the afternoon.  I had something like this for my breakfast for a couple years (I like routine!) and had to stop and adapt when

This is a treat of a smoothie with hints of Mexican Chocolate. I prefer Ancient Nutrition Bone Broth Protein & Designs for Sport Bone Broth Protein, both of which are available in my Fullscript Dispensary.* If you want it extra chocolate, add a tbsp of

Bluebell Smoothie (Vanilla Blueberry Lemon)

Bluebell Smoothie (Vanilla Blueberry Lemon)

All right… I’ve been making smoothies like mad and haven’t been posting them to the blog!  Guilty!  This is what life-as-homeschool-mom brings.  But these babies are so good I can’t let it go without sharing.  Stay tuned… more to come.   I feel so blessed that with all the hardship Covid has brought and the collapse of companies, including my husband’s, he has his skillful hands to fall back on.  He does beautiful work!  I’ll try to get photos to share soon.

I like to use Ancient Nutrition Vanilla Bone Broth Protein or keto collagen in a pinch… but I find the texture is best with the bone broth version.  You can pick up Dr. Axe’s Ancient Nutrition products in my Fullscript Practitioner Dispensary.  This is my autoimmune friendly go to… so if you struggle with inflammation from legumes and veggies… this is the safe pick. I love making up an afternoon smoothie as it’s light, has the calories and nutrition I need and I can still de-stress with a run or workout after homeschooling without an overly full belly.  You can also get the MCT oil in my Fullscript, and many things are cheaper there than amazon, ship free over $50 and you have the added bonus of supporting a homeschooling mom. 😜

For the lemon kick I use dōTERRA Lemon Essential Oil dropsdōTERRA ingestible oils are marked with a nutritional label.  They undergo stringent lab testing that unfortunately many essential oils do not… so be careful… don’t put adulterated or chemically altered oils in your body unknowingly!  The lemon tastes lovely… and I’ve used the wild orange, lime, and peppermint for other smoothies.  You can get those smoothie friendly culinary oils here

Now for the recipe!  Let me know what you think!

Aunt Edna’s Lemon Creamsicle Smoothie 🍋🍦

I don’t have an Aunt Edna, but my husband does.  I was playing a little naming game for smoothies on my @brennamaywellness instagram account a while back and we came up with some creative names… not all of which I have brought to the blog.
